Ellen Shankin and Donna Polseno

I just learned that the Workhouse Arts Center is hosting Ellen Shankin and Donna Polseno for a weekend workshop October 23-25, 2009

The description is as follows:

In this workshop, we offer different approaches to ceramic form and sruface. Donna works mostly with handbuilding and throwing, while Ellen generates all ideas through the process of throwing. Focusing on specific forms: covered jars or boxes, bowls, vases and soy bottles, we will work side by side throughout the process. The workshop will include throwing, hand building and slip casting forms. We will work on a soy bottle, coming at it from different perspectives. As the workshop draws to a close, we will see what it is like to interact with each’s other pieces.
