I am currently on a break from the studio while we clean and make improvements. These breaks are frustrating and fruitful at the same time. I want to be at the wheel creating – the frustrating part. Yet I often find that these breaks provide me the most time to imagine and dream about new pieces – the fruitful part. As long as I can listen to life around me, I find inspiration. It is with this duality that I start my day today.
And it is a fresh morning. We’ve had a bit of rain to clean the air. Our cherry tree is in full bloom with its fireworks show of white and pink outside my window.
To add to this inspiration, the birds are chirping. How do I capture the sound of a bird chirp in a piece of pottery? Let’s see if I can figure that one out when the studio reopens in a few weeks.
