I was putting off investigating the local gallery circuit to show my work until 2010. One step at a time in the spiritual and artistic journey.
But thanks to my friend and mentor Lorraine Oerth, I got an early start on my 2010 goals. You can now view and purchase my work at Oerth Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia. Oerth Gallery is a great place to while away the time.
Located in a colorful old rowhouse, the gallery specializes in American and Canadian artists and artisans that Lorraine and her sister have traveled North America to find and bring back to Northern Virginia. You can find everything from beautiful oil paintings to handmade earrings and some spectacular metal work and ceramics.
The gallery carries the fun ceramic work of Lorraine (she is a fellow Art League resident), as well as the work of ceramicists Dale Marhanka (my former teacher) and Carlos Beltran (another Art League colleague).
This last weekend I dropped off a few other pieces for her “back room”, including the vase to the left. I still have a few pieces in the gallery’s Small Works show that is open through December 31. So stop by anytime to browse and support this great local, woman-owned business and the great artists it helps promote.
