Does this look familiar? Years ago, when I first started playing with my Turkish inspired “tulip vases”, I was struggling with the handle and the balance of the form. I then found myself in Chicago with my hubby and we went to the Art Institute. One of the most wonderful museums I’ve ever been to. That is where I saw this silver pitcher designed by Oscar Riedacher and made by Tiffany. While I have never been able to get the fine curve of the handle or the balance with the spout, I return to this image often. This pitcher has become my ideal of this form.
