One of the many great things about the internet is that museums have put at least some of their collections on line.  It makes for a great way to spend a snowy evening; perusing collections, looking for inspiration.  Here is a Ming Dynasty ewer, circa 1610.  I love the handle, its curve and the negative space it creates. I am curious about the spout however.  It doesn’t look like it would not be functional in the least.  And I know a few things about non-functional spouts. 🙂
