They’re Here! The wood-fired pots of spring.

Like the brooms of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, a lively collection of pots came marching out of the kiln this morning.  Here are the post-unloading group shots.  My biggest surprise was how all my Reitz Green glazed pieces turned blue.  I am thrilled with this discovery.  Although blue is often scoffed at  in pottery circles, this is a beautiful color, with variations from matte to gloss and back and lots of crystals.

My biggest disappointment was the failure of all of my combined forms to make it through without cracking.  Ah well.  They are beautiful and usable for dried flowers.  They will make great finds on the seconds table.

Over the next week, I will be sanding, shooting and pricing each pot in preparation for my Cherry Blossom home sale.  I will be posting pics on my facebook fan page.  Become a fan to find out when I post new pics and get a sneak peek before the sale.
